The Pacific Locksmiths Association is in the process of proposing locksmith legislation along with

Representative Linda Flores and Representative John Huffman.

The need for this law is to Protect consumers from several bad apples in the industry and the growing

trend of unscrupulous characters operating in Oregon. This problem has been growing in Oregon and in

other States. We want to maintain a high level of integrity in the locksmith industry, and with the many

illegitimate locksmiths now advertising in our phone books, and taking advantage of consumers we

need more regulation on who can and can't do this type of work.
